Fast becoming one of my favorite houses from Chile is Estampa, and these three tasty reds make me want to celebrate the season in the Southern Hemisphere:
Estampa Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenere-Petit Verdot Assemblage Reserve Colchagua Valley 2010. Grade=Outstanding. Big and bold with black fruits, spices and hints of dried herbs, this full-bodied red is a fine accompaniment to beef.
Estampa Carmenere-Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc Assemblage Reserve Colchagua Valley 2010. Grade=Outstanding+. A deliciously rich, full-bodied red, Bordeaux-style, with big tannins, thick black and blue fruits, dark spices, cocoa and mint.
Estampa Gold Red Blend Colchagua Valley 2007. Grade=Amazing. Powerfully dense and dark, this red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot shows of loads of juicy blackberry, blueberry and boysenberry fruit, dried herbs and spices, oak spice, bitter chocolate and cedar smoke. Just incredible.
