Lady Di from Martin & Co. dropped in today with two very cool wines from Argentina:

Lagarde “Altas Cumbres” Sauvignon Blanc Mendoza 2011.  Grade=Very Good.  Delicious, atypical SB with lighter hints of white grapefruit, quince and lemon custard notes, finishing with a hint of cilantro and thyme.

El Porvenir “Laborum” Tannat Salta 2009.  Grade=Outstanding.  A kinder, gentler Tannat – DEEP PURPLE! In the glass with hints of earthy, twiggy black cherry, plum and boysenberry fruit, hints of sage, tobacco and black pepper.  Finishes with surprisingly good amounts of acidity and balance.
